Ahhh the good times when the new baby still smells new and will sleep with you on the couch, just not at night . Here Izzy is about 2 months old and katie is getting used to being the BIG sis, a roll in which she has done pretty well with.

Looking back the bike never needed a paint job it is after all a "track" bike. Of course i couldn't help doing somthing to it. But now I do feel bad because when these pics where taken i had spent a lot of hours in the paint booth and poor Tara was dealing with newborn Izzy.

First ride of 2009 and I tried to get some pictures. It never dawned on me that there might still be snow on the top of galbraith mountain. We got to the halfway point and there was about a foot of snow scatted around the trails and jumping or even getting up speed was impossible. But it very fun and it made me want to get on the bike a lot more often.

So there you have it. my new hubs for the cove. I struggled for a long time to make a decision on this. i thought about King, hadley, DT swiss. But settled on the hope because of the brakes I put on. Hope brakes are the best i have ever usd so the hubs had to be good. These will be laced up on stan's olympic rims with DT swiss spokes. Now i need time to lace them up.

Well finally got around to getting my but on a track to find out how the bike and I would hold against other bikes and riders. The track was in Kent washington, pacific raceways a 12 turn 2.5 mile corkscrew of fun. After a couple of sessions I was able to ride with an instructor, I thought I was doing pretty well passing everthing on the straights and thru the corners. The instructor quickly made me step my game up I probaly dropped 2 seconds of my lap times after following that guy. Just for the record He was riding an R1. In the pics I was probaly doing upwards of 110 on the way up to 160 gawd it was fun. Well looking at the post after I posted the second pic is not me, oops Tara said it was hard to pick me out I imagine it was.

Katie on the farm, Tara took Katie to the island county fair and she was absolutly enthralled with the animals. She has no fear of the farm animals she would just walk up and start petyting the goats and start jabbering like she was talking with them. Well got the holeshot jet kit in the other day, just needed time to install. Took all day to rip out the airbox, carbs, and remember where all the hoses go. Took a bit but the end result is nice i think the k&n filters look nice.

Here is a bit o bike bling, some of the things I have chosen to be put to service on one of my favorite bikes. I tried to choose some parts that have been proven over time or I lusted over since the early days but never had the moola. Started with the frame from cove bikes in british columbia we all know the canucks can ride some burly stuff so should kast me a while (thanks Tara love you). I hung a lot of good stuff king, thomson, hope, salsa, sram,marazocci, easton and mavic. this is my bike to pimp all the rest of them get to stay pretty basic but this one gets the good stuff. Still i would love to get some king hubs with stans olympic rims and the hope 2 piece rotors to finish it up. Someday.

Well with camping in Washington ypu cant go to far without seeing some good views. The view from above is from goose rock which is a nice little 2 mile hike up hill with very steep trails. The bridge is the deception pass bridge which is about 320 foot above the water, the water below is usually pretty violent with the tide coming in or out. Last but not least is me showing of my version of paradise as long as there is no sand I'm happy, and this place is beautiful.

Well after months of hinting, scheming and planning, I finally caught tara in a sleep deprived moment of weakness. I finally replaced my aging 02 stinky deelux with an 06 version, Got a sweet deal from the shop and couldn't pass it up considering I paid less for the entire bike than some of the frames I was considering. Well I coudn't leave alone and had to put a couple of my personel touches on it but not many, oury grips and WTB downhill twinply tire to replace the single ply it came with. Took the bike to whistler ti ride with Richie Schley in the bike camp (thank you Tara and family)and the bike was sweet 10 foot drops felt like 3 foot. the bie has more potential than I have skill. Hopefully I can get you some action shots soon.

Here's Jake with his brand new 1982 KZ750. Ihave fond memories' of the KZ,s I know my dad had a few in his day. Jake bought this for 350 dollars and had me ride it home that day. Got it home changed the oil, plugs, adjusted the chain and bleed the brakes which the fluid looked like jelly. Runs like a top He is already looking into headers k&N filters and other hop up stuff, should be a fun project. Evan got any advise for us on this one?

Five months into life and the changes have been amazing, the top picture is one of Katies first pictures when she couldn't hold her head up, slept almost all day, now she can stand with help will fight sleep with every once of enegy she ha She can recognize Mommy and daddy, loves to smile and laugh and it trying to figure out how to crawl so she can progress to bigger and better thing. It's benn five month of craziness but it been the best five months of my life weird how priorities change. Not to say i don't get on my bike or have some bike lust but just not as much.
